Your newborn session is officially booked, and it's perfectly natural to wonder what comes next! Please know I've got you completely covered. I'll share my insights and guide you through preparing for this tender session, ensuring you know just what to expect for our time together.

My Approach

My approach to newborn sessions interactive. What does that mean for you? It means I'll be calmly photographing you with your precious newborn. We'll capture authentic moments as you play with them, gently soothe them, or simply pose together. This interactive approach truly allows us the flexibility to follow your newborn's unique pace. There will naturally be times when they are fussy or overstimulated, and that's perfectly normal. We'll quietly, direct our session based entirely on what your little one gives us.

Don’t Panic

It’s normal to have our newborn crying or looking to be soothed. If that happens, do not worry, that is all part of the process. We will shift our direction of attention as we go. So there is no need to be worried about being completely picture perfect. If this happens we will have beautiful images of you soothing and connecting with your newborn.

What to Bring

It is important to bring what ever you think is necessary with a newborn. I will leave a list of potential things to consider.

Wet napkins/ towl
Second change of clothes
Diapers
Pacifier

Props

For our session, bringing props is not necessary, but you are more than welcome to bring any toys or plush animals. Props will be important if you wish to get some solo shots of your newborn on a blanket. Other than that, most of the shots will be with you.

Atmosphere

The environment we create will be very important to how well our newborn responds. They are able to pick up on our energy, so we must try our best to transmit calmness and nurture. For this reason it is recommended to be very mindful of how many people will be with us. If extended family will be joining us, we will have to create a smooth rotation.
