Mayra & Daniel

Some love stories are built on beautiful, patient anticipation. Long before they shared a physical space, Mayra and Daniel’s connection lived in the warm glow of phone screens.

They matched on an app, and right from the start, the conversation was effortless. Amidst a digital world that often moves too fast, Daniel stood out—he was a true gentleman, thoughtful and sincere. Yet, as life often goes, schedules refused to align. Calendar conflicts and missed opportunities kept putting their first meeting on hold, forcing them to cultivate their connection virtually. For weeks, they built a quiet foundation of laughter, shared stories, and growing curiosity.

Then came the day that changed everything.

While Mayra was away in Temecula for a girls' weekend, Daniel found himself with a rare day off. Eager to finally meet the woman he’d been laughing with for weeks, he dared to ask a question that changed their trajectory:

"If I ride over, would you step away for a few hours to have lunch with me?"

Taken aback by his enthusiasm, Mayra said yes. Two hours later, making the trip from Los Angeles to Temecula, Daniel pulled up on his motorcycle, a bottle of wine in hand, ready to write their first real-life chapter.

When we sat down to plan their engagement session, I knew we couldn't just choose a random, pretty backdrop. Your history deserves to be celebrated, not staged. I asked them, "What if we go back to the exact place where you had your first date?"

They fell in love with the idea, and we spent the day chasing light in the place where their physical journey truly began.

As a photographer, my deepest inspiration comes from listening to these quiet, intentional beginnings. Recreating their first date wasn't just about beautiful photographs—it was about honoring the very momentum that brought them together. It’s moments like these that fill my heart, both as an artist and as someone who deeply believes in honest, unposed love.
